Eileen is an important architect and steward of Horizon’s culture. During Eileen’s fifteen years at Horizon, she has accelerated change and transformed Horizon into a magnet for the industry’s best talent and a place widely recognized for the highest levels of commitment to inclusion, diversity and the professional and personal development of its people.
Eileen has made betterment a progressive cornerstone of Horizon’s culture, fostering a supportive environment for the total physical and mental well-being of Horizon’s employees. Eileen has championed the development of Horizon’s on-site gym and yoga studio, she was instrumental in developing classes for meditation, breathing and relaxation, and was the driving force behind Horizon’s ‘Retreat’, a new room of hanging silks where people can relax, recharge and rejuvenate. Eileen is perhaps most proud of Horizon Health, the agency’s on-site nursing and urgent care facility where people have a low-cost and convenient option to manage their healthcare needs.
Eileen has been recognized as an innovative leader and transformative force within the industry. She was named to the prestigious IRTS Foundation Hall of Mentorship in 2018, and Eileen is the only talent management recipient of Adweek Media Allstar award, which she also received in 2018. Eileen has twice been named an HR Practitioner Superstar by HRO Today Magazine and has helped establish Horizon as a perennial recipient of numerous major industry awards for culture and excellence. Horizon has been named multiple times as a best place to work by Adage, Crain’s, the Los Angeles Business Journal. The agency was named on three separate lists by Fortune as a best workplace for diversity, a best workplace for women and a best workplace for millennials. Horizon was also named the #2 Best Place to Interview in the U.S. by Glassdoor.
A strong and relentless advocate for personal and professional growth, Eileen is a founding member of Horizon’s “Limitless” platform, which was created by five of the agency’s female leaders, with the intention of educating, motivating and inspiring each employee to identify and explore their own leadership potential.
Prior to joining Horizon Media, Benwitt worked for four years as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at MPG, and was Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Porter Novelli.
Eileen develops a healthy mind, body and soul through a regular practice of Pilates, strength training, meditation, cycling, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She believes that a sense of humor and keeping it real is the key to all things in life.
Back home
